5th At US Sailing's Rolex Miami OCR 2012

January 27, 2012
Miami, Fl

Two quick race wins this morning wrapped up our 2012 US Sailing's Rolex Miami OCR with a 5th place overall finishing position. It wasn't the goal coming into the regatta, but given our elimination yesterday, we are happy to have finished as high as we could.

January 26, 2012 (received Thursday/posted Friday)
Miami, Fl

It was an amazingly close five-race series today in the quarterfinals against Team Macgregor from Great Britain. We came up short in the series losing 2-3, and failed to advance to the semi finals. Tomorrow we will participate in the 5th-8th sail-off series and race for 5th place.

It wasn't a great day on paper today for Team Maclaren as we finished up our last four races of the round robin with a 1-3 record, but it was enough to squeak us through to the quarterfinals.
