The Wrong Side of Close Races On Day 3 Of Skandia SFG
August 11, 2010
Weymouth, UK
Today was the beginning of gold fleet racing after we wrapped up the last race in group A this morning. We had rather a tough day, but sailed good races. Unfortunately, we didn't win any today, but had some great races, making small errors here and there to put us just behind. We have two more races tomorrow in the gold fleet before the quarter-finals start.

Tonight's update will be short since we got off the water at 8:30pm and have to be leaving the dock tomorrow morning at 8:30am. However, we do have great news; we completed three of the four scheduled races and won them all to take our round robin record to 6-0, and enough to advance us through to the gold fleet in the next stage. Our final race tomorrow is against GBR's Lucy MacGregor and team who are also 6-0 at this point in the round.

We started racing bright and early this morning at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta here in Weymouth. Our group, group A, headed out to the race course around 9am for their three races for the day. After getting out the pre-regatta jitters in the first pre-start, we went on to finish our day 3-0. Tomorrow we are scheduled to finish the round robin with four races.

Tomorrow, we, Team Tunnicliffe, will begin racing at the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta at Weymouth UK, the final leg of the ISAF World Cup. We have been here for five days, training in the teams' new Elliott 6m's, against our team mates Sally Barkow, Genny Tulloch and Alana O'Reilly. We had four days of great wind and were able to practice a lot of small components of a race.

7th Overall At Radial Worlds
Largs, Scotland
The Laser Radial Worlds ended today with no racing, and Finland's Sari Mutala successfully defending her World Championship title over Netherlands' Marit Bouwmeester. My USSTAG team mate Paige Railey ended up tied for 3rd, winning the tie breaker. I managed to rally back to a 7th place overall.
